Week 13 Expanded Start/Sit Part 5: Ks and Defenses

For the previous parts:
Week 13 Start/ Sit Part 1: QBs
Week 13 Start/ Sit Part 2: RBs
Week 13 Start/ Sit Part 3: WRs
Week 13 Start/ Sit Part 4: TEs

This is Part 5 of the starts and sits for Week 13:

K

Start 'Em

Sebastian Janikowski (at Dolphins)- Janikowski blew up in Week 12 and looks to be rounding back into form from his injuries. With all the injuries the Raiders (Darren McFadden, Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford already outo) have in their offensive skills players, it is not much of a reach to expect them to struggle once again getting into the the endzone and have to settle for field goals. Janikowski should be in line for a big game against Miami in Week 13.

Sit 'Em

Adam Vinatieri (at Patriots)- Vinatieri is no longer the elite fantasy kicker that he was in years past. The Colts without Peyton Manning have struggled to get in the redzone. Add in the fact that New England has only allowed about 7 fantasy points to kickers and there is no light at the end of the tunnel in Week 13 for Vinatieri in a matchup against his former team.

DEF

Start 'Em

Patriots (vs. Colts)- New England's defense should be in line for another monster week against Indianapolis. After what they did to Tyler Palko and the Chiefs a couple of weeks ago, they should have no problem going up against another new quarterback, Dan Orlovsky, leading another inept offense, the Colts.

49ers (vs. Rams)- San Francisco's defense has been one of the best in the NFL this season and they get to face one of the worst offenses in the league in St. Louis'. There should be no surprise here and the 49ers should be able to pad their defensive numbers in this easy matchup against the team that has allowed opposing defenses to score the most fantasy points.

Sit 'Em

Lions (at Saints)- this is the second straight week that a defense facing New Orleans is in this list and the second straight week that Detroit is in this list. Last week they faced the juggernaut that is the Packers offense and this weak the matchup is not any easier against Drew Brees and the Saints. Add in Ndamukong Suh's suspension and the Lions defense should be in no sane owners' starting lineup.

Giants (vs. Packers)- this is the fifth straight week that a defense facing Green Bay is in this list and the second straight week that New York is in this list. Last week they faced the Saints and this week in switch with the Lions they are facing Aaron Rodgers and the receiving corps of the Packers elite passing machine. There is no reason why the Giants defense should not be in your bench for a second straight week.
